Criterias to Choosing CBD Oil in East Amherst
Full Spectrum:
If you have read my other articles you know that CBD is one of the hundred plus cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. When looking at the research on the use of CBD oil for health conditions most oils studied are full spectrum which simply means they contain not only CBD but all 100+ cannabinoids found in a cannabis plant. These cannabinoids work together creating an entourage effect. CBD alone or CBD isolate has not been found to be particularly beneficial for one’s health. At Northtown Chiropractic & Injury Rehab we carry full spectrum CBD oil in East Amherst NY.
CBD Oil not hemp oil & whole plant extraction:
CBD oil is extracted from the hemp seed plant stalk, stem, flower, leaves and seeds. The most abundant amount of CBD oil is found in the flowering part of the hemp cannabis plant. Hemp seed oil in itself does not contain much CBD oil, if any at all. Hemp seed oil primarily contains omega fatty acids. Make sure you are purchasing CBD oil not hemp seed oil.
Organically & domestically grown:
CBD oil should be grown organically and domestically. The source of the plant matters. With absorption of CBD at 10%-35%, East Amherst chiropractor explains you want to make sure you are obtaining the highest quality oil possible.
3rd party Testing:
With any supplement regulation is limited and CBD is no different. These products are not FDA regulated. Did you know anyone can produce supplements? That’s right even you could start making and selling supplements right out of your basement. This is why 3rd party testing is vital. If you have a bottle of CBD oil in East Amherst that states its 1000mg of CBD oil you want to be assured that’s what you are getting. We are seeing companies sell bottles of hemp seed oil mixed with other oils being marketed as CBD oil. You also want to be assured the oil is not tarnished with other toxins and impurities.
Extraction Method:
When purchasing CBD oil in East Amherst, you want to make sure the oil was extracted from the plant using super critical CO2 extraction. Many oils are extracted in the presence of high heat or harsh chemicals. These oils will be poorly absorbed. Not only are these oils poorly absorbed but they are also dangerous to one’s health due to the presence of omega 9 fatty acids.
Company Transparency:
Any company that you are purchasing CBD oil from should have full transparency. When you have questions, you should be able to find answers. If this is not the case be weary.
Fillers:
When purchasing CBD oil, you need to make sure the product does not contain fillers and other excess ingredients. Let’s compare the two bottle of CBD oil below. Notice the CBD BioCare 1000mg bottle. A full bottle of oil contains 1000mg’s of CBD oil. One full dropper contains 40mgs of CBD oil. Each bottle contains 25 servings. Using basic math, we are able to do the following calculation. 25 servings multiplied by 40mgs per serving equals a total of 1000mg’s per bottle. Notice how in the ingredients section it reads full spectrum CBD & hemp oil with nothing else.
Now let’s look at the other product below. A 2oz bottle contains 750mg’s of CBD. Per serving in this product, you get 5mgs of CBD and 19mgs of hemp of oil per serving. A full bottle contains 160 servings. Simple math 19mgs multiplied by 160 servings equals a total of 3,040 mgs per bottle. Remember this bottle only contains 750mg of CBD oil!! This means there are 2,290mgs of other ingredients.
As a disclaimer this product is meant to contain other ingredients. This product is a blend. I want to demonstrate you must pay close attention to the labels. Finding the correct dosage with a product like this may be challenging. Take note of the other ingredients section as well. When looking to take pure CBD oil you should not see anything else listed in this section of the label.
Let’s look at another product on the market notice in the label below. On the surface this product appears to be good and it very well may be a quality product. But we have a few unanswered questions. First and foremost, the product does not list how much CBD it contains. It simply sates 23mg’s of hemp extract. When we look at the other ingredients we see olive oil. This is used as a carrier oil. Other brands may use MCT oil or coconut oil as a carrier. We recommend products that use hemp seed oil as the carrier. These fatty oil’s help with the absorption of the product.
